When is difference between Active and schedule Monitoring?

Setting your ongoing monitoring to schedule i.e. Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and  Yearly will enable the system to screen monitor based on that schedule.  Where as setting is Active the screening will be done intelligently based on Data Change Vector (DCV) and few other factors.
